Ok so tonight I decided that I couldn't wait to buff with extra fine swirl remover by 3m and then put a coat of wax on and polished. Oh my did it get deep gloss that polyurethane worked very well.. so then I shielded the cavities and assembled the body. All I have left is the headstock decal and some more coats of TO on the neck and I will do fret level, crown, dress and polish hopefully this weekend and then set up. I did upgrade the pickups and the pots, tone cap and the 3 way switch and put some killer abalone capped control knobs..I can't wait to give this to him and see what he thinks.

Some of the pictures make it look very dark and it is not. But I am using my phone camera and I have to resize them to post to a lower resolution and the lighting is not ideal. Once I get it done I will use my good camera and then reduce size and edit to get good pictures. But the ones outside show the color contrast better..

That looks amazing! I was hoping to get the quilted Tele but they're out of stock for a while and couldn't wait that long. Maybe next time...

Thanks I am building this one for a friend and he is the pastor of my church. He said his favorite colors were dark blue and green so it should be right up his ally. The quilted top takes a lot of care to protect it and I don't know if I would do another with such a thin veneer.

I think your friend will be amazed! And so am I, wonderful guitar and the knobs are cool looking. Are they Q-Part knobs?
