that's right Pabs. If you had black hardware it would be black PG for sure. I think you will find others will prefer black PG
Looks good either way Pabs, but I'm leaning towards the black also.
They both look so good and to make things difficult I think I like the white one

White hands down. Sorry Pabs :D
I'm with Fuzzbeard in that the white one gives it a bit more contrast rather than just looking like an oversized black emu egg sitting in the middle of your axe.
To really mix things up, what would it look like with a clear one instead?
Thanks guys.
Waz, the pickup rout is way oversized, but if it wasn't I'd probably go that way, or even no pickguard.
Pabs,
I had remembered something else about finishing....and have been looking and finally found it.....have a read.....any poly done like this as long as you don't shake it will give you the finish.....then do the auto cut, buff and wax.

Cheers Ozz. I stumbled across that article while I was deciding whether to use wipe on poly or not and ended up not wanting to risk it and left it matte (now it fits in with most of my other guitars).

So, here's where I'm up to. Pretty much everything done bar wiring and final setup. Don't think I'll have time to get it done before the end of the month.
Neck needed to be shimmed because the strings sat miles high. The bridge (Gotoh 201b-4) is really nice, kit tuners are working out very well. Bone nut still needs a bit of work. Overall, for a not yet set up bass, it plays and sounds (acoustically) great. Getting there.
