She's all come to a screaming halt now the paint's gone on though, I just need to switch out of building mode and keep away from it for a while (if that's possible)
@stan, yeah it's one of the best bits about building I reckon once you start putting the hardware on and getting an idea of how the end product's going to look, good fun:-)

nearly there now though, gonna look so sweet once the paints done and you get it all built up, very impressive
looks amazing Barge, black paint with MOP binding and the veneer on the back this really is a classy customised axe. Keep up the good work. What sort of clear coat you going, gloss or satin ?
Just started checking this thread Bargie and am blown away by the look of the binding with the colour of the body. That's fantastic man. A classy thing like that belongs in my collection. You already have my address. ;-)
sorry Lozza there's already a long queue for new ownership of this axe as soon as GOTM photos are taken :)
Cheers Ben, Wokks, Lozza:-)
To answer you question Wokks, I was originally planing on doing a gloss back and sides with a satin top but the satin lacquer was out of stock and not expected for 6-8 weeks or something ridiculous so gloss all over at this point.
Hey you lads better not speak too soon I haven't finished yet, still plenty of time to f*#k it right up, it's all been going a bit too smoothly thus far....
That is such a nice finish mate. Good luck with the clears!
Bargy the satin top looks the goods - wait for the satin clear: your original plan is just the thing...
