Thanks man. Pin holes of pain in my arse. Lesson learnt though. Respect the 2k, love the 2k, thin the 2k and don't rush it.
:-)
I have never used sanding sealer in any of my builds. I normally fill the grain with old mate timber mate and dye the wood or paint (no primer) put a coat of acrylic on and Infra red the shit out of it , leave it for a couple of days then start the clear. I don't do any cut or polish for tweo to three weeks depending on the weather.Quote:

Couldn't agree more. Can I ask why you don't use sanding sealer? For the Tele project I'm doing a finish that is unsuitable for timber mate and just want a clear over the wood. I spoke to a fw rep and he reckons I could go the sanding sealer, a few light tack coats of acrylic, let it dry then 2k it.
I have how ever ordered some sealer from Stu Mac to try it and see how it goes with Acrylic clear.
Thanks again. For the Tele I'll be something so need a totally clear sealer to go over the wood and then either clear over that or considering an oil finish. No idea where to start with oils though.
Damn phone. Will be doing something different. I don't think the timber mate will get along with this finish.
So cleared this and the candycaster again yesterday, polished up and doing some assembly. Not sure whether to go the stock pups so its black all round or use some Epi lp pups I had. Black looks better but the epis will probably sound better.

Update. All the hardware is on except tuners. All wired up now and working great. Promised the wife I'd do a bbq then do our tax so I'll finish her off a bit later on.
Jeepers, it's looking more pepper than salt i.e. HOT :)
I'm keen to see her all fitted out.
