Welcome Broke123. TL kits are a great place to start this adventure.
You're obviously fearless enough to get stuck into it with a router, which is a good thing. Just be aware that if you want to use full size pots (24mm), the control cavity needs some routing as well (widening). That fact is discussed here in numerous threads.

Re the pots, if its a basswood body its so soft all I did was get a screwdriver with a rounded handle slightly wider than the pot, and basically force the handle into the control cavity where the pots sit and it provided two slightly widened rounded areas without the need to route.
