Bigsby Bridge Spring
Continue to build the TL-1TB kit... almost there...
I always assumed that Bigsby Spring "stays" in place, even when the guitar is turned upside down and also it "holds" the trem arm in place (so it doesn't flap around the place).
Is this the case?
Also the spring is really big! Anyone trimmed the spring back?
I'll attach photo tomorrow if this doesn't mean sense..
Any advice appreciated.

Just saw another post saying when strings are in the pressure will keep spring in.
Can anyone confirm?

yes indeed the spring is held by string tension, they do pull it down a bit but some people fit shorter springs. String gauge increases pressure which in turn pulls down a bit more, so 11's will pull it down further than 9's. I havent shortened the spring on my Jazzmaster fited with a kit "bigsby" but intend to on next string change
