Dedmans WL-1 Kustom
I'm building this at the same time as the TL-1TB Kustom , that way I have something to do while waiting on parts for the other.
So far I haven't done much other than a polish of the frets and started planning pick up surround shapes. These and the string through tail piece will be done in aluminium plate, not sure if I'll polish them or tumble finish them. Bridge will be a Schaller roller. I have started marking out the body shape mods, the tail piece will reflect the shape of the "vee" not the current layout of the ferrules.

Still not sure about the WL shapes, but the rough layout looks tasty and unique in the quintessential Dedman Studios fashion.
let me get the popcorn and settle back!

Unlike FW, I'm very sure how I feel about the WL shape (LOVE LOVE LOVE).
Looking forward to seeing what you do with this

I actually like the WL better than the Dean original. More curves, less angles. Looks like it might have better balance too. The Dean’s were very prone to neck dive.

This one will be even curvier before I'm finished with it

Looking forward to seeing it Dedafied.

initial "fendering " done. Pointy bits rounded. Now the sanding can begin

Interesting approach on such a pointy guitar... but I can see where you're going and it's going to look great.

Looking great so far mate!
Forgive my ignorance, but is the string thru tailpiece for added support for the strings? It will undoubtedly look very cool, just wondering it's true purpose.

Interesting shape and agree that it looks better with rounded edges.
