First Build - ESPM-1
Got the kit quite a few weeks ago, read the manual and watched videos til it arrived. Did a mock build then started sanding, sanding more sanding and then bit more sanding, probably didn't do enough sanding but I then applied DingoTone Black stump stain and intensifier and the picture is just before applying the first final coat. No issues so far, I'm trying to stain just the front of the headstock, fraught with danger but I'm willing to live with what happens, find out when the masking comes off. Bit of movement in the neck pocket, nothing to be concerned over but have to be careful when I set the neck, check, check and check again then just to be on the safe side check again to make sure I didn't do something stupid the first three times.

Looks good.
What sort of timber is that? Looks like Basswood?

Thanks Waz,
It's Mahogany. I'm really liking your build collection, some stunning instruments there.
-
Thanks mate.
You learn so much with each subsequent build.

Slow going still, I have now stained and finished the neck, lots of insignificant stuff has slowed the proceedings but now ready to put the two parts together so either this W/E or next the neck should be attached to the body, then I'll do some more pics.

It's finally finished, A few mistakes but overall a reasonable player so I'm happy about that. I didn't do a great job of the finish but I still like it. There's a couple of marks where the clamps were placed on the back of the neck joint and the front of the headstock, that's a long story. The A string or F# string, as the guitar is down-tuned 3 half steps, machine head is slightly off but one day I may fill the screw hole and redrill to make it straight. It will take a while to complete the video diary of the build, still thinking about doing an 'in the mix' song using it, I have quite a lot of footage to go through already so the 'in the mix' may be a separate video altogether.Attachment 29144
