Just joined
Hi everyone,
I've just joined the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I've been playing guitar and bass very badly since I was about 11 or 12 years old. Experience has done little to improve my playing ability over the years but my enthusiasm for everything guitar related has not been dimmed one bit in the last 40+ years ;)
I just play in the spare bedroom these days and have collected a host of guitars over the years. As so many of us have clearly done, it has led to the inevitable desire to build a guitar. So here we are. I've embarked on my first kit build recently (RCA-4 bass). The process so far has been really enjoyable, and it has taught me some patience as well!
The forum, which I've been browsing is incredible. Its clearly a real community and I'm looking forward to joining in. I will be posting some pictures shortly I hope.
Cheers guys.

Hi Robbo and welcome. Never too late to start a build diary, so take some pictures to show us how you are doing and any questions, ask away!

Welcome along Robbo - keen to hear how the RC-4 goes.

Welcome Robbo.
Plenty of RC4 builds to look at for inspiration and guidance.
Many people are tempted to use a genuine Ric style bridge which requires routing the body to make it fit.
Personally, having previously owned a couple of Ric's their bridges are not that good and would suggest using something else if you are more concerned with function over form. It all comes down to whether you just want a look alike replica or something that you can customize to make it your own creation.
Will be keen to see how things progress.
Cheers, Waz
