I've been fooling around with playing slide in open D a bit over the last few months and I've been thinking about dedicated slide guitars and the like. I think I've decided on my dream guitar, if I ever get around to making a scratchy guitar. I think a want a small body 6+6 double neck. Kind of like Roy Rogers' one. The top neck would be set for slide and tuned to open D, the bottom would be set up and tuned standard.

Yeah, that's a nice looking guitar. I've never played any slide, but I've always thought it sounds wonderful

I also love the idea of a 6 + 6 doubleneck.
I would have two tunings. Then I could just bring one guitar, hah.
Just buy a good 10 string double neck pedal steel and have a C6 & E9 neck, all bases covered ;)Quote:
