Cazaron's Build 2 - The Essendon EX

Hey! New kit's on its way, so the new build thread's got to make its way up too.

This one's going to be an Explorer for my dad, a wonderful man who deserves something awesome.

This is the kind of man who doesn't get super worked up and emotional and yet we can all recount the story of him having a breakdown after a Bombers collapse against Carlton. He was going out for dinner that night with my mother and couldn't get himself in good spirits, he was shattered. We all get a little attached to our footy sometimes, don't we?

Fantastic story now, but for him, I have planned the following:

Black Explorer with the signature red stripe.
Bare Knuckle pickups.

I'm very excited and I hope he loves it, even though he doesn't know how to play guitar yet. I might buy a mini amp like an Orange Crush for him and spray paint it black and red as well, but we'll see what the budget permits in a few months time.

Yeah baby!! Another mighty EX! Really looking forward to watching this one turn, and to hearing a demo of those bare knuckles.

I have to put in a plug for the Tonerider Alnico IV's that were installed in my EX-1 as they are excellent value for money and a pair probably comes in at the price of one bare knuckle.

Almost went with the standard ceramic 496R & 500T combo as they sound great in my Son's genuine White Gibbo but the TR's are as good if not better.

I'm more of a Carlton fan myself (when I can be bothered), but nice colour scheme. ;)

Cazaron, check out the build I've got going, similar colours, might give you some idea of how it might look? I used Super Cheap Auto brand black spray, and Duplicolor 'Milano red'. http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...t=7072&page=10
