Dedmans Strat
Yupppp, another build. A basic strat. Why? because I don't have one!
Plan was to be basic black gloss, black fittings but on unpacking it and finding no glue, I may just stain it black and let the grain show through and put some naughty Oil over it. I've sanded it and smothered it in diluted black Timbermate, will get back to it on Friday all going well.
Headstock will be basic Strat shape. I have a set of Toneriders City Limits coming for it I got off a mate. Bridge is a Goto I had, tuners are Mini Grovers.

Nope, I didn't. I did the Community proto super strat, but when I get another neck for it (used it on the jazzmamster) it will be going to a mate. This has a trem too.

Bout time you build a strat Deddy...;)
My love for strats commenced on my ST-1 build and still continues. Respect.
Can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Can't wait to see this one finished, should look pretty cool.

G'day Deddy, black stain sounds like a good idea and here's hoping some grain shows up to make it all worthwhile.
-
well, if it doesn't I'll just paint it :D

Curious to see how much the ebony timbermate enhances what little grain Basswod tends to come with.

I'd be tempted to just paint it and give the soft basswood some protection. Plus that upper bout wood strip is a different colour to the rest, so you might get a two-tone effect rather than all-black. Sanding down the Timbermate should give you an idea how different the black take-up is going to be.
