Using Hammerite Hammertone...

I have been doubting lately how to finish the back, sides and neck on my LP-1MQ kit.

I already have a can of Rustin's Grainfiller and my initial plan was to use this as a filler where I would add some red stampink (and perhaps a drop of black stampink) to the paste to get a dark reddish filler.

However, a couple of days ago, while searching the web on a rainy day, I came across some images of guys who had used Hammerite Hammertone on their guitarbodies. And I must say it looked surprisingly cool. So I started trying imagining how my Red Widow would look with the Hammertone Black or Red on it... And it is tempting :)

Is there anyone here who has gone that path before? And if so, how did it work out? Or in general, what is your opinion about using this product?

Hi Kick, I have used killrust hammertone on steelwork before( trailer, steel posts ), I have used as a spraycan as well as through a gun and found it can be a little difficult to get a really nice even finish, just my experience. would look cool as hell though, what colour were you thinking.

someone did a hammertone finish ..on a EX if I remember?
I love the stuff and use it on office furniture and bench tops but you do always have that slightly ripply surface with it.
