The kid from Dee Why,first build.

Will be receiving a TL-H1 tomorrow from PBG. Can't wait to get started. My main goal is to have a hot humbucker rocker,never owned a Tele and LP's are not my bag. Not really looking for a pretty guitar,just something that will kick ass at my local blues jam and something that will cost as little as possible. Have bought some tuner up grades and some hot mini humbuckers,that will be the only money I will spend on it. The rest will be done with what ever I can find in the garage. Have scrolled through the build diaries and the skill and knowledge there is priceless. Will start a build diary soon,thank you PBG and ladies and gentlemen.

Help is never too far away on this forum. The TL looks like an easy kit. Did the scratch plate come pre-wired up? If it did that is a handy reference point for when you get around to swapping out the standard pickups.

Haven't received the kit yet,don't think so. I'm thinking of one volume and one tone,or even just one volume,so will have to make a new scratch plate will use the kit one for a template. First built my mantra will be keep it simple stupid.

You could always leave four knobs on top and just wire up how many you want to use.

Thought about that too. Think I'll change the pick guard.

Trickier job than it looks cutting and shaping an acrylic scratch plate and it may be hard finding a ready made replacement with just 2 holes for control knobs.

If you really want to go down that path forum member Pablo Pepper is the person to contact as he can custom make those things at a reasonable price.
