I assume you could do this just through custom order, but I know a lot of people who love the 4001/3 shape and are ridiculously jealous of Serge Pizzorno and his collection of 4001/3 6 strings.
Any thoughts put into this before?

Stock kit stuff may help it look like a Ric in shape only but it will never sound like one due to the lack of PUP choices for 6 string Bass.
It's a guitar, not a bass Waz (though I only know because I looked it up). It's a mid '70s Rickenbacker 481. It has a 4001 shaped body, two fairly standard looking humbuckers and slightly slanted frets.

I doubt if you are ever going to get the slanted frets on a kit guitar. Otherwise it's all possible, but with a minimum 50+ orders for a new kit, the demand would have to be there first. Also, with Rickenbacker being legally very active when it comes to copies, I'm sure that there would have to be some other slight changes to the body shape in addition to a DIY headstock.
Could do a Hybrid of Two Kits?????
Thanks Simon. I should have had a look on google.....

Never knew they had done a guitar version however had seen Geddy Lee's double necker with Bass & Guitar setup.
Thought he was after something like this.....

Not sure what is going on at the headstock end but it doesn't look pretty or easy to fix.
Hm... Nice looking 6-string!
Yeah sorry guys, should have been more clear.
@Simon Barden - thanks for the name mate, I completely blanked when making the thread. Reason I ask is 'cause I used to own a 481 type guitar made again by a local luthier, in Wellard. Forget his first name but his last name was Rayment, hence the name on the headstock here:

Body is jarrah with a mahogany thru-neck, maple fretboard. Locking tuners, classy Bigsby. Had a neck like a baseball bat and was versatile as hell. Had to get rid of it as it was way too heavy to play for extended amounts of time.
