PBG Bolt-On Necks
Hey all, just wondering if there is a different in thickness, rear radius and required pocket size between the various Bolt-On necks available from PBG.
I know all of the kits have a Fret board radius of 12", but are there any differences between an LP, ST or TL style neck where your palm touches?
I'm trying to decide which neck to purchase for my Silent Guitar Scratch build.
I only have experience with the LP neck a this stage.
Thanks in advance.

Hi buddy, I only have experience with PBG Tele necks and the rear profile is nice and comfy. Also a good choice as the neck heel is more square than the Strat's which is rounded off. These are both 25.5" scale length which is 3/4" more than your LP and also come in maple or rose wood fret board options whereas most Gibson styled ones are rose wood only. Also depends if you want 3 per side tuners or 6 in line as the F styles are always 6 in line like your Carson.
Cheers, Waz

Thanks mate, and I appreciate the observation about the heel, that is most helpful.
I'm kind of leaning towards the LP head stock, mostly because of one design change I have in mind for the headstock, but to be honest, I could do a variation of it on either the strat or tele styles as well.
Hmmm, cogs turning now!!

Cheers buddy, LP design just locks you into the rose wood fret board theme or there is also an ebony one for a few more dollars.

Yeah, understood. I'm thinking along a rather dark theme for this, but like all plans, we all know how that can go!!

I've found that the necks tend to be deeper D necks, but it is an easy thing to sand them back to shallower C or V or boat profiles, depending on your druthers. I've only had necks for F-style guitars, I don't know what the neck shapes are like on the G-style guitars.
