Hi from Melbourne
Hi,
I'm Dean and I'm a guitar-a-holic in training. I've recently started learning to play and, because I am somewhat obsessive-compulsive about my hobbies, I have decided to have a crack at building a guitar. I've purchased a PRS-1Q which is arriving this week. I hope that my axe murdering is limited to my playing and I can make a decent job of my first DIY. I have experience with building electronic stuff as my other (currently dormant) hobby is electric remote control model airplanes. I have done a little wood finishing in the form of coffee machine customisation as per the attached photo.
I'm looking forward to making a start of my guitar and learning a lot from you all in the process.
Cheers
Dean

Welcome Dean, good luck with the build.

Simultaneous Wood AND Coffee porn! I like the start you've made Dean, really interested to see how you go with your kit. Welcome aboard sir!

Ey hi Dean!, is good to meeting you. I hope that PRS kit goes great and you let us see the progress.

Hi Dean and welcome. Looks like you shouldn't have too much problem with the kit seeing the really nice work you've done on the coffee machine.

Hi Dean, welcome to the Pitbull Guitars forum, I don't know how many of us are coffee addicts, but I for one, can't start the day properly without my morning caffeine fix, anyway, hope you enjoy your time here, and be sure to start a build diary when you start building your PRS-1Q kit, also be sure to include pics of your progress.

welcome to the forum Dean, pretty radical coffee machine setup, what type of timber is that slab looks amazing something like blackheart sassafras ?
Good luck with the PRS build, start a build diary and ask any questions you have there. Look forward to see the build progress

Thanks for the welcome guys.
The wood on the coffee machine is Tasmanian Blackheart Sasafrass. The machine itself is a Kees Van de Westen Mirage 2 group which lives in our roastery/chocolate factory. Coffee, chocolate, guitars and woodwork. Life can't get too much better.
My kit arrived today so I'll kick off my build diary and get straight into the questions. Woo Hoo.
