Looks lovely, but without a bolt-on neck, it's obviously going to sound a bit different to a standard Tele. But I'm sure you can live with that. :D
Given that the kit has a bolt on neck that will be an unavoidable variation unless I go down the scratchie route some time in the future
Ah, so similar, but not that exact guitar. I understand.
Phwoar, looks good DK, verrrry tempting
It's the Merle Haggard custom shop signature model.
I played a set neck Tele in Hawaii and wasn't all that impressed but a lot of that was due to the setup and lack of interest shown by the shop owner who wanted to sell me a $4K uke rather than a $700 Tele ( the only two electrics in the shop were the Tele and a Shobud Maverick pedal steel plus a Princeton & small Vox amp, played through the Vox )
I don't feel that the set neck added anything to the sound or made that much difference to the upper frets and I don't often get above the 15th fret anyway
My daughter asked me what I wanted for birthday / christmas as they are only a few days apart and I suggested she and her brothers make a contribution to curing the itch.
I'll have a talk to Mr Watkins about a set of Texas Specials to put in it in place of the standard offering
Happy daze :)
Now that sounds like a great gift idea.
Yeah Waz it was good to be given the opportunity to let them spoil me, much better than beer or a few bottles of good red
And way better then socks, jocks or other clothes as that seems to be an easy soft option for most kids.
