I don't see how it wouldn't work, but where would be the best place for it? In the case under the liner would probably prevent anyone from finding it, or maybe inside the electrics cavity? It may be shielded though if inside the guitar itself.
One drawback I see is that it seems to be limited to Bluetooth range, which is only about 10mtrs.
The tracking using other peoples phone is dependent on everyone having the app active.

Hey Zandit how about stuck to the inside wall of the rout for the volume and pickup selector with super strong double sided tape. That way thieves wouldn't see it.
