Yeah KB hopefully they reopen with their new banner. DB won't be happy if the big green shed have no competition
Woolies owned both Masters and Home, but have now sold Home to Metcash who are merging it with Mitre 10. I think Masters is just going to evaporate.
hey Fretty you are approaching Overlord status, not long to go buddy, just 77 more welcomes !
I went to Masters today to get some ply and some Titebond. The checkout girl was really pushing for me to give my email address, but I figured...company closing down, why you want my email, to sell it possibly? When I worked for Kodak back in the 90's they made more from selling their mailing list than from processing film.
The Home group isn't hardware. They will be renovating the buildings into multiple smaller shops.
Woolies are in a deep pile of brown smelly stuff with their supermarkets not doing so good either.
Had a customer in 2 days ago who quit Masters about 6 weeks ago and most of his former workmates have been informed they will have to accept whatever job Woolies throws at them as there will be no redundancies. Local press has already got on the band wagon saying buy up hardware now whilst Masters closing down sale is on as once gone prices will rebound even higher than where they are today.
