Hi there!
My name's Rob and I purchased an SG bass kit. It's not my first DIY build, but it is my first from Pit Bull.
I'm a long-time bassist and my daughter is developing a lot of interest in the instrument. She currently has a Hofner (Beatle) bass - besides being a Beatles fan like me, I also bought it because it's lightweight and easy for her to learn on. The idea of doing a father/daughter project popped into my head and I let her choose the model - she went straight for the SG without hesitation!
We are a little into the build now and I've been lazy getting an account on this forum - although I have been visiting from time to time reading tips along the way. Anyhow, I'll get a build diary started to show how we're going.
Cheers :)

Hi Rob and welcome.
Good Father/Daughter project that should not pose too many problems for you both. Short scale also helps if someone has smaller hands too.
An SG Copy was my first Bass around 37 years ago and yes they are light weight and easier to play than a traditional 34" scaled P or J Bass.

Welcome along - I'm working on my SG bass as well - just need to clear one or two kits to get some room to stain it :).
