Hey everyone
Hello everyone,
I'm Dylan,
And thankyou for letting me apart of your forum. Looking to start my first build very soon and im thinking i will go with an ash tele to get me started. Seems like an easyish place to start.
On another note ive started another little project on reshaping my ugly fat epiphone lp headstock to a 59 gibson shape. Just wondering is thats frowned upon on this forum like some others ive come across. Before i get shot down I WILL NOT BE USING a gibson logo lol and ill be keeping my epiphone one there. Just wondering if anyone would be interested in seeing how that comes along?
Cheers guys

Welcome to the forum. Ash tele is a great choice and one of my favourites. The ash grain is terrific and really stands out when painted with a translucent colour.

Dozey - welcome along - I'm working on an ash tele and they're great...
As for reshaping the headstock - on the forum, we're keen to see how people can work with their guitars. As with most - we want to see that people are getting what they paid for, so strongly encourage people to use their own logos on kit built guitars. That said - if you're modding an Epi and leaving the Epi logo on the headstock - no issue from me - regardless of what the headstock is turning into...

Welcome to the crazy ranch 😀
The Epi headstocks are in need of modding so I say go nutz!
I have a Epi Thunderbird and my biggest gripe, (after those stupid three point bridges) is the 20mm of poly finish on the neck...
I was going to sand it off until I discovered they didn't do many reverse silver bursts in my model.
One day I will get around to building a new neck for it, minus the speed humps.

Cheers for your replies guy's.
On the topic, the headstock is my only problem i have with my epi, minus the fact when i got it the pots were shagged, but love everything else about it. Im not sure why epiphone don't just use the same headstock as the ones used on the dots. I think it would look alot better and maybe sell a few more?
Anyways if i was to start a thread on a headstock reshape where abouts would i post it?
Cheers guys

Don't stress too much Dozey - worst comes to worst us mods will move it... There's more important things in life than where you put a forum thread so we don't get too stressed over it :).
