Phil and I were unsure about this one, as it's not really a faulty kit. Spalted maple is a result of a tree disease, so it's a naturally occurring effect that is going to vary greatly, which I guess is why it's so sought after.

This one has very minimal spalting, so we decided we couldn't supply it as a "first" quality, in case the customer wanted "lots of spalting".

Personally I think it looks pretty cool.

Anyhoo, it's big bucks off... from $209 down to $169.

Thanks Woks. I still don't know what colour - if any - to make it! But that's half the fun I s'pose, dreaming of colour schemes and upgrades... As for the build diary - you might have to wait a little while. There's still a guitar or two to finish off, like always.

yeah colour will be a tough choice NDroid, I love how the spalt is all on the bottom half, then its clean maple with some nice white lines. I think that combination will look really cool. I'd choose a colour not too dark to really show off the contrast.
