Too right, the following pics are saya (katana and tanto scabbards) I've painted with nothing more than spray cans and a sponge.

I did have a step by step tute I'd put together but it vanished with an old forum
Not having used spray cans I didn't realise you can turn the nozzle in spray cans to adjust how the spray pattern is affected. Just like a spray gun. You never stop learning.
Thanks for that. A good spray can demo - he makes it look so easy!
he does make it look so easy, I am struggling with mine at the moment.
the big mistake I see mostly with cans or a gun is people moving their wrist to get the coverage so the can is in one place and the paint is travelling various distances to reach the surface. Move your whole arm or body side to side to keep the can parallel to the surface and get nice even coverage. Start spraying off before the edge and continue off the opposite edge
Don't rush!
oh the rush, I know it well.. :)
Also when you finish with spraying, turn the can upside down and spray off the dregs.
good advice Dedman and Tony, I use both those techniques and try keep my wrist rigid and the nozzle at the same angle and just move your arms
yeah , that's a good tip otherwise you'll end up with bad spray and a waste of paint in the can..
