HI everybody
Just got an ES - 1G kit and I'm really looking forward to building it. I'm planning a classic cherry sunburst look, I think the maple is going to look stunning if I manage to do it justice. I will start a thread on the new builds forum once I have finished sanding.

welcome to the forum Monkey. Your build plans sound great.
Be careful not to oversand the thin flame maple veneers. Also be aware there may be some glue on the cap, so wipe a damp (water) rag over it to see if any darker areas appear. Sometimes they aren't visible till the first stain coat goes on.
