Hi from Sunshine Coast
Hi everyone, this is going to be my first full guitar build. I’ve made changes over the years as every player does, and made a few bits and pieces but nothing like this so any tips and advice will be greatly appreciated. I’ve watched the forum over the last few months, picked up some great advice and seen some outstanding builds come together.
So, I waited for the RCA-4 to come in on back order and received it last week. I spent the weekend going through the kit, clearing a work area and then made a start. I’ve had a few different ideas on finish, upgrades but decided to keep the first one simple (but we’ll see how it goes). The only thing I have changed is the bridge, and got hold of a replacement Rick one just for the look. The hardest part so far…….patience :-) Simon

Welcome Simon, enjoy your build!

Hi Simon, welcome to the forum. Great kit to start on the RCA-4.
Start a build diary and ask any questions there. Also have a read of any of the RC builds on the forum to get some ideas and check out the gallery.
Start sanding and we are all keen to see photos and updates in the diary
best of luck and the best advice is don't rush the build. Allow plenty of curing time too

G'day Simon,
Welcome to the madness :D
I've got a mate up at Yandina who builds heaps of scratchies most of which he donates to the local school band, he's always up for a visit and jam ( Trev333 on TDPRI )

Thanks guys, will load some pics and updates as I go.

Welcome Pumpy from the bottom end of the Coast.
Suggest reading all threads on the RC-4's as there have been some really goods ones built. Positioning of the set neck sounds like it could vary a bit from one kit to another so checking scale length will be ultra important rather than making it look good if you want it to sound and play OK.
Keen to see how yours turns out.
