Haven't totally made up my mind as to the final specs but it will definatley be filled with ebony timbermate and finished with Dingotone Karijini Red. I'll eventually be bone nutting, coppertaping, upgrading the wiring and the pups with Seymore duncans. In saying that, I've got a feeling the gold may look pretty awesome with the Karijini Red.
I know im still working on my ST-1 but i keep stuffing up the nitro and having to redo and wait to cure, anyways this is an xmas project.

wow oh just wow Andy that spalted cap is the biz. Gold hardware and karijini red will look sick.
I built a spalty with karijini and it turned out dark but I like it, I went with the black hardware, don't think I got a completed pic at work. EDIT I found a mock build with the black hardware
With the figure in your cap I'd almost be tempted to choose a lighter colour stain or go natural

Yeah Wokks! that looks awesome! I was aiming for a deep shiraz type colour to it. I'm hoping the mahogany body in Karajini red will go deeper than the maple top.
-
fair enough Andy a shiraz colour top should look great, The mahogany body should be a bit deeper. I used a deep brown stain for back/sides and neck and that complimented the deep red top well
-
This one looks awesome. Wonder if you can get a spalted cap for any kit?

Hey guys, I recently stared sanding the Mahogany with 180 and found a bit of separation on one side of the control cavity.
Do I need to fix this, any suggestions would be muchly appreciated?
Attachment 6709
The other side is filled with glue

Hi Andy,
the area that is separated I'd put some Titebond glue in there, if after applying it once there are still small gaps then hit it with more glue. Might be worth lightly clamping the top/bottom, use a rag to protect the body and see if there is any movement of the droptop.
Make sure you wipe off any excess glue if any comes out onto the mahogany side or spalted cap

Thanks Wokks! I'll do that before I do anything else
