Protecting autographs

Any thoughts on protecting permanent marker on acrylic clear coat?

Ive done markers before by misting VERY light clear coats in layers to avoid runs. After 3-4 mists clear a bit heavier

I need to take the neck off so I'm thinking I'll disassemble it and do the whole front to do it right.

Yeah I assumed it would be the whole front :) want to keep it uniform and avoid high patches
