Veneer comes close for a fit. Not sure how a small "splice" will look at the botton
-
stock shape is basically what I'm doing on my ib7 :D great minds eh?
Looks like a sweet project. The veneering shouldn't be too hard hopefully. Not many curves on this one
-
Nice kit Tony! Can't wait to see how she turns out. The flame veneer is a great idea for this shape!
cheers,
Gav.

Got some different veneer as couldnt get the other stuff to fit without having to do some sort of insert.
Now going to do front and back. sides will be black, and front and back purple- deciding on whether straight colour or blacked and burst first.
-
another shred beast build, love the veneer too

oops. experiencing some minor technical difficulties.
So applied the veneer to the front and braced using the "Paver 2000" professional bracing system only to find a week later that the upper half veneer was seriously bubbled. After trying the hot iron method to flatten, to no avail, decided to pull it off after seeing what the colour I wanted looked like. So in take 2 will be the similar to the colour around the knobs. Black wash then the purplish colour.
So to get the veneer off will run through a mates thicknesser to clean up the top and have another crack. Another problem I think is getting the guitar edges which are beveled to look like a clean edge to the flat top.

Damn, bad luck Tony. Looking forward to seeing Raptor veneer v2.0!
cheers,
Gav.

hope it works out, could always do a burst to cover it...
