The "Shadows' Strat
Hi Guys,
Doing a favour for BIL (brother in law): Who got a Strat kit the other week.
Since it will be a Strat that will resemble Hank Marvins', it needs to be "Fiesta Red".
He has made up a "rotating" stand to give good access to painting, so far it has been sanded and primed.
The neck has had some Dingo Tone neck finish in clear, waited the five days and will soon have the gloss applied.
The pictures show the progress so far.

Looking good I think
Well, some more pix of the "shadow" tribute.
(looks as if I have been sacked as chief photo taker {LOL})
In Dennis's own words.
"Hi Rick
Some photos for the build page
First 2 are with 3 coats of colour which looked good at first but had to many imperfections
Second 2 photos are of body rubbed back with 600 grit wet and dry and awaiting respray Have to wait till more spray cans come into shop"

Coming along nicely. Colour will soon build up on the body. Looks like the neck has some nice figuring? Will look great with the fiesta red body and gold hardware. You've got to love a bit of Hank, I spent a lot of time learning Shadows numbers (especially love 'The Savage'). Are you going to shorten the whammy bar on this? Makes it easier to apply tremelo in the Hank style whilst still plucking away!

Hi! Well things have been happening since the last post.
First I went on holidays in March (tried to grab one of those DigiTech Trio, but they didn't have any (and I'm still trying). Then Dennis went on holidays. But soon there will be some work on it and some pics' might start to appear.
Have had trouble with the neck curing, but this will be up and running soon we hope. Maybe next week Dennis should get an opportunity to do something.
Other than that there is nothing to report.
Rick.

The "Hank"
Well, today we (mostly Denis) got to do a little more on the "Hank". I was over to give technical advised moral support.
Besides he had to get a lend of my soldering iron.
There was some trouble with the spraying but he stuck with it, and I have to say Leo him self would be proud of the finish on this guitar.
One of the hold ups' was the neck wasn't curing (sticky) so a sand back and some polish has fixed this. It is the color of the wood, no tint, trying to match Hanks.
Got the hardware fitted and neck. So all it needs is setting up, including the tremolo which I usually don't worry about preferring a hard tail.
The photos I have are very big so may need to send a few threads.
Man! That took some time, had to e-mail them to me to resize them, there must be an easier way but I know this .
I'm sure every one has seen photos like the so no explanation is needed. one reason why there is not any more also.
Rick.
