WOW Trevor that looks totally awesome, very Paul Stanley looking axe. Whats the technique, break a mirror (without the 7 years bad luck hopefully), then put it together like a jigsaw and cut the edges ?
How do you cut the mirror edges and get a smooth edge that won't cut you ?
I first started with a 2mm glass mirror ( it was quite easy to cut , but i couldn't drill it for the Vol pots etc ... so I resorted to 3mm Acrylic mirror. I routed a 3 mm deep edging around the body to fit a 6mm pearl binding- this made a 3mm 'cavity' that i could place the mirror pieces in . To cut the shapes i just traced the body shape onto the full piece of acrylic then drew the 'smashed' design onto it. I used a scroll saw to cut the pieces out and glued them into place - Very fiddly and I then used a dremmal to tidy them up . I then used a salastic grout and spread over it waited till it almost dried then pulled the protective paper coating of the individual pieces Woooolaaa !!!
wow its been a tedious procedure Trevor but its well paid off. Very clever idea to put binding on the edges so there are no sharp edges. Looks like its almost ready to wire and string up ?
Thats right Wokkaboy , would love to wire it up a little different if you have any Ideas instead of the 'Standard , Les Paul type configuration. I wired up one of my Strat copies with a cut out toggle switch on it that replace the last tone knob so you can do a Ace Frehley/ EVH type of effect by doing string bends and turning the guitar of and on. EVH has one on his EVH Wolfgang Stealth only he has a Red push button .

you can still turn the sound on and off with a standard les paul wiring using the switch with one volume on zero.
Would be cool to swap a tone knob for that but how would it be activated?
Unless you fit an EVH push switch near the volume knobs
Amazing job Trevor. You've totally nailed it in look and execution. Any chance of a close-up shot of the grout between the mirror pieces and them sitting in the binding? Great job dude.

I will take some more photos tonight Guys of the binding / grout plus the trus rod cover I cut out- Im really stoked with this one and how it came out ... This was even harder than the Frankenstrat build.
I bet it was very time consuming cutting all the mirror pieces and binding etc.
Is this the method they have used to build Paul Stanleys axe or have you worked out this method on your own ?
This will look excellent under stage lights this baby !
