Started work on this next one. The finish is to be a deep red sunburst, Dark Onyx Outer and Carmine Gypsy Inner.
Is this the worst Wudtone job ever? Maybe... but fear not, dear reader! I will be cutting this back to leave enough to pop the grain before applying the rest of the finish.
At least, that's the plan.

Sounds great - an Essendon bass! Good luck and I hope it works out as planned - if it does - it'll be a pearler!

All the best, mate. Looking forward to following this one through!

Sanded back to 120g, grain popping reasonably well. Will now sand back to 180g then apply a coat of leftover Burning Sun base to really give it a pop. Once this is dry, I will sand back to 400g before apply the deep coat of Carmine Gypsy.

Sanded to 180g, one coat of Burning Sun base. That's more like it.

First deep coat of Carmine Gypsy. Will wait til it dries before deciding if another coat is warranted.
Also renamed the project the Crimson King, based on initial results.

The Crimson King, eh?
That'll be Fripp-ing fantastic. Will it end up in the Hall and be the same colour as a Lark's Tongue? Should be able to play some nice Cadences on it as they Cascade into each other.
Hehehe
I could go on forever...

Neck treated to one coat of Aged Vintage.
Going to try something brave (ie. foolhardy) with this one; a sunburst on the neck in matching shades to the body. The Aged Vintage will cure then I will treat the neck the same as the body. Let's see what happens.
