Thanks Trevor
I've built many pedals using PCBs from Madbean and AionFX. I source components myself and get the box drilled painted and UV printed by Tayda.
The components typically come from Tayda, Digikey, Mouser, pedalpartsaustralia, Cabintech, smallbear, etc... depending on what I'm after, how urgent :-)
There's too much to cover in a single reply I can answer specific questions :-)
I had this brief period where I experimented a bit with building a pedal (a Dan Armstrong Orange Peeler), and there used to be some pretty good forums, but they seem mostly to have been replaced by reddits...
The forum I liked the best is still around FWIW: https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php
This site looks particularly helpful: https://diyeffectspedals.com/
I found a site that specializes in parts for pedals in Australia. It looks like it is shutting down, but you you might get a few deals on it's way out...

I used this place in the US...it's been a while, but it's still around:

I think if you Doc Nomis may chime in if you run into trouble. From my one foray into pedal building, I can say that I actually got the most help from someone on a G&L bass forum. Doc started a thread on a Big Muff build, that seems to have petered out a bit, but he often takes breaks ;-)
The only thing that I would add is that there are lots of schematics around from old pedals so they are easy to find. On the other hand, there are usually some important updates that you may want to add...like true bypass switching. I found out the hard way that "off" on some old pedals was not really "off" ;-)
Thanks for the reply’s
Ah no worries, I'll pester you guys with guitar building questions when the kid and I actually start building our kit. I'm traveling the next 4 weeks but when back I can elaborate more on pedal building and where I source what.
Sadly https://www.diyguitarpedals.com.au is closing down due to owner's health reasons :-( pedal parts Australia is still around, handy for last minute missing pieces.
