Intro and Welcome
G'day there teachers, it's about time you had your own section of the forum dedicated to questions and answers specifically about building guitars in the classroom or school setting.
I love this idea of kids getting to build an instrument in their tech & design or manual arts class, and not just learning new skills, but leaving with an instrument that they can play and be proud of for the rest of their lives.
I hope you will share with your fellow teachers things that were good, things that were easy or things that were too difficult, but most importantly for me, if there's anything more I can do to help out with this idea.

Nice Idea!
I run a Guitar Building Club at the school where I work. I typically have 6 students (Year 10 students), we meet 1 lunchtime (about 25 mins) a week for most of the year. We normally build the ST-1, TL-1 style kits depending on availability. I have a set of the essential guitar tools, 3 work benches, a clothes rack for drying, 2 x drills and an electric sander. Most of our work is done in my Science classroom (I do not have any manual arts space!), staining and varnishing is done in the foyer. Sometimes I also have a staff club.

Great idea, Tim!
Nice to see your space TD!

That looks awesome TD! Love your work, and I'm sure the students do as well

Brilliant TD I used to work in a school would have loved having something like you are doing in the place. The students will remember these activities for the rest of their lives ( and you too)

A local business near me made some chassis and supplied other essential parts at cost for cars similar to mine in my avatar to a local high school for year 12 students to complete.
