Question about L-shaped vs straight switches

Good afternoon all (or whatever time it is around your parts!),

I am soldering a harness for my left handed Trini Lopez build and had a question about the switch I was hoping to use.

I ordered a switchcraft switch a while back and didn't think twice about the fact that I was sent an L-shaped 3 way toggle switch. I diagramed my wires and created a template after finishing the mock build. It was only then that I realized that the L-shaped switch will probably make contact with a potentiometer. https://imgur.com/a/1NExAnl

Should I use a straight toggle switch? Does the contact matter (I assume it would be problematic).

Also - I may have asked this question before, but does this wiring diagram look correct for a left-handed set up with left-handed potentiometers? https://imgur.com/a/itUeEYQ

You may be able to insulate in between the switch and the pot to avoid any problems.
I assume the switch has to be in that position to be functional!? Could it swing around into the space between the pots.

Also, I think the wiring diagram is good!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah - I thought about just running some electrical tape between the pot and switch but didn't know if that would cause issues or be a lazy shortcut haha. I ordered a straight switchcraft last night but can still cancel that order if need be. I guess I have some decisions to make.

Also - one more random question if I may - during my mock build, I noticed the toggle switch *barely* clears the hole with enough space to thread the nut. It's so close that I worry that once it's painted and finished it may not tighten. should I sand down the outside and inside of the area by the hole to ensure it clears when painted/finished? I am hoping the new switch might resolve this issue, but I want to have some contingencies if I have the same issue.

If you bought another Switchcraft toggle, it will be fine. The straight toggle has 9mm of thread. The right angle only has 5mm.

Thanks, McCreed! It should be in the mail today! Darn it, I guess I have to find another thing to put this other switch in haha.
