DTZ-1L kit finishing.

Hi, I’ve just bought a Tele zebra kit and I’m considering a few different options. It hasn’t arrived with me yet and I expect that will answer most of my questions but I’ll put the feelers out first.

So initially I wanted to do a 2 tone burst effect with orange and gold to make a tiger stripe pattern but I think the wood will be a bit to dark to pull that off, (again unless the kit comes and it’s lighter)

My next plan was a light green but see above.

Both of those were dyes, I didn’t want to paint and lose any effect.

So my last idea is to stain it in a butterscotch like a vintage fender, and to match my Squier.

At this stage I’m thinking the last is the best option, and I’m going to start on the forums once I’m home from work, but in the meantime to anyone who has built a zebra kit, what was your experience and which one of my ideas would be most likely, based on the kit that you have.
