HI All
Hi All! Just received my first kit (and early christmas present), the gs-7z. I'm looking forward to spending more time here and sharing this new hobby with you all.
I'm very pleased with the kit so far, the body looks amazing and the neck joint looks good too from a quick test fit. The only issue i've noticed is tear out on the back of the headstock on all of the pre-drilled tuning post holes, but i assume these will be covered by the tuners so shouldn't be much of an issue (hopefully).

Hi and welcome Bellringer.
The top of the body looks nice. The back of the tuners will cover the tear outs - but IMO it is not a great look for quality control!
Don't forget to start a build diary for your progress.

Welcome b3llr1ng3r.
I would pop the tuners on just to be sure they'll cover the tear out. Especially on the E & G string holes.
Yes, they can likely be filled if needed, but it's not something you should have to do IMO. Pretty shoddy work.
I also think it would be worth sending PBG a photo. If for nothing else, just so that they're aware of the quality of kits coming out.
I do like the matching veneer on the body and headstock though. Look forward to watching your project!

Hi and welcome.
As McCreed says, send Pit Bull a photo via email (they rarely read the forum posts). Tear-outs like that shouldn't happen and indicate either blunt drills or the lack of a block placed at the rear to drill into. You might expect some slight splintering, but nothing to that extent.

Love the angled effect on the top [emoji108]

Thanks for the advice everyone, I’ll send them an email later today.

That veneer is great! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it
