Our first build - JZ-6 baritone guitar
Hi everyone,
We are Boogie Bombers, a "blues" band from Italy and in these strange quarantined times we are working on new gear to discover new interesting stuff... and one idea was to implement a baritone guit to our instrumental arsenal with a custom DIY.
Finally we started yesterday with our brand new JZ-6 baritone kit making the first measurements and firsts sandings on the body.
The scale is not exactly 30" as described but after assembling the bridge, fixing the neck and the grover tuners seeems that the two E strings are keeping the right intonation. Unfortunatley the strings provided are standard .09 strings and not a proper baritone scale (we're thinking to mount a 014-068).
Here's two shots before the first assembly

The only "issue" we've found so far is that the wiring scheme is missing in this forum but we assume that having a SC-SC-SC and 3 pots (hoping for the master volume and 2 tones) the wiring is the same of stratocaster-like models.

In the next days we will prepare the woods to the first coat thinking for the best color to give, an maybe a P-90 on bridge instead of the standard single coil. Oh, and the shape of the head? We will see...
