Started out this weekend on my first Pitbull rebuild. I did a basic setup and then designed the headstock shape being carefull to make sure that the tuners fitted into the shape. The body contours and edge radius was done.

Cool! I like the headstock shape
+1 on the headstock.
What timber is that? Almost looks like pine.
It should be a basswood body and maple neck.
Full marks for checking the headstock design. It needs to be functional as well as look good.
Yes it is a nice blonde maple neck:)
Today I have fitted the neck and bridge, aligning the bridge with craft string. The pickup has also been test fitted. Next the frets will be sorted and the fret ends beveled. All is going well so far!Attachment 36041Attachment 36042
I decided to reshape the upper and lower horns this weekend. The upper was made slightly thinner and the bottom was shortened by about 20mm and reshaped. It allowed a better access to the upper frets. I also made the body contours more pronounced. In the future if the bass lives up to expectations I would fit an active EMG pickup or similar. I made a couple of quick templates and routed out a rear cavity so that there wouldn't be any problems fitting a battery and extra electronics. Attachment 36097Attachment 36098Attachment 36099
Nice routing work and good body mods.
