Hi
I have started building my STA-1. Test build is done and I have stained the body and I am now adding clear top coats. Very pleased with how it is looking.
I have bought the bone nut and would like any tips about the process for removing the plastic nut and fitting the bone one. Thanks.

Welcome aboard. I normally grab the nut firmly in the middle with some pliers and twist it clockwise/anticlockwise a few times and yank it out. You can also tap in gently from the side with a suitable drift of some kind. Firm but gentle is the best approach, it's not unusual to take a little bit of fret board with it. Small chips are easily repaired by glueing back in with CA (superglue)

It probably wont need it, it'll just sit in the slot. Once you've finished the guitar and setup you can put a dot of super glue on it to hold it in place, but I'd recommend not gluing it until right at the end. Sometime you want to be able to file the bottom or slots a bit off the guitar as you are narrowing down your action.
