Hi from the UK Midlands
Hello! I've just embarked on my first guitar build - a thinline St with a maple top. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade/qualification with limited woodworking skills - wish me luck! I know a little about electrics, but may need help with what I want to do with this kit; I'll post a question in the relevant forum when I find it.
Cheers, chaps!

Welcome Littleredrooster,
You’ll get lots of help here mate.
I used to live in the Midlands, Erdington mainly, then when I met the missus it was West Brom.
Good luck and looking forward to your build.

G'day mate,
Yep heaps of help here.
I also have limited skills in building with wood, although I just spent another $100+ on stuff to finish the guitar.
NONE OF THIS IS OBLIGATORY I AM JUST TRYING HARD, MAYBE TOO HARD
Paint is expensive here, so my shopping list was:
$40AU on paints and undercoat.
bought some 0000 Steel wool $4,
$15 mouse sander, but only for the tough spots, most was done by hand.
$20 on a 40mm dowel for holding the guitar body
$7 on 50mm conduit
$4 conduit T junction
$18 on a spray gun eBay - Which hasn't arrived and I won't use because I bought spraycans instead.(next build)
$18 on a little Luthier setup kit. eBay (could be crap quality)
I have a feeling I will need to build a second guitar to justify all the spending and the excess paint ;)
I already briefed the wife, so should be all good in a month or two.
Have fun, look forward to seeing you build pics.
