Photos in the BYO Guitar website can be a maximum of 1500 pixels a side. Easiest way I've found to resize is to use a program such as Irfan View to resize images.
Steps as follows.
Open Irfanview and go to File > Batch Conversion/Rename

Use the file browser to navigate to your photos.
Once you're in the directory you can add all photos or selectively add individual photos if you want.

Set an output directory - I generally use the input directory with a subdirectory "small" to keep things simple.

Tick the box for "Use advanced options (for bulk resize)" and dive into the options.

I like Irfanview a lot and have used it for years. It's great for resizing and cropping in particular. Fast, small and free. Great program.
I have seen that a lot of folks access the site on phones using an app like Tapatalk. If I want to post a pic, I'll take the pic on my phone and want to post it without uploading to my computer. To crop/resize on my phone I use an app called "Photo & Picture Resizer"...not a very creative name, but descriptive. Posting a pic of the icon. Not as good as Irfanview but best I have found so far for my phone.32274

If you're using a Windows PC, there is "Paint" which is free as it's included in the Win OS in Programs.
Easy to use, intuitive, free. You can choose to re-size by percent or pixels.
That's my quick go-to as I post pics mostly from computer.

I'll have a look at Irfanview,
I have used "snipping tool" from windows if I just want to show something quickly that I found online.
> press windows key > type "snip"> hit enter
> Press new or Crtl+N > and drag over the image you want to show
> Save
There a lot of ways, but the Bulk option of Irfanview sounds great!

If you use Imgur and just copy and paste the BBCode it automatically resizes for you.

I have it on my phone, so I can upload directly from my photo library. I don't normally post here from my phone, but I can have Imgur on one tab and this one another, which makes grabbing the uploaded images and putting them in my post easy.

Quickest and easiest is to open them in Microsoft Paint and just resize them by %.
Depending on how big your original photo is.
Say with a new Samsung phone (which takes photos in gih res) I resized them twice in a row by 50%.

......
It's basically the same with MacOS: Open the photo in Preview, click Tools - Adjust Size - Fit into and change it from Custom to 640 x 640.
Hope this helps.

Or just resize the longest side of your photo to 1500 pixels in Preview.
