hi there, does anyone have a diagram for using a push/pull pot as volume and pickup selector?

Just selecting between two pickups?

This will work for selecting between pickup 1 or pickup 2, but you can't have both on together:

The tone link is just if you have a tone pot as well. And, the pickup grounds/negatives will need to connect to a ground point etc as per usual.

If you want both pickups on together then you'll need either two push/pulls or a more conventional selector switch.

thank you, that is exactly what i was looking for

Does this connection to tone require a resistor or do I not need one as usual diagrams have two links to the tone pot? Is this connection from the ground wire or am I being stupid.

The tone pot connection here is a standard tone pot arrangement.

The tone pot itself is used as a variable resistor. From the volume pot connection you can go volume pot > capacitor > tone pot resistor > ground or volume pot > tone pot resistor > capacitor > ground. Electrically identical in operation.
