springs in ib 5 kit???

i recently got the ib 5 5 string bass. i noticed that there is 8 screws and 8 springs. i assume that these spring go underneath the pickups is this correct?

I don't have that kit, but yes as they hold the pickups off of the body. This allows the adjustment of pickup height by screwing the screws in further, compressing the spring.

Suggest also placing some high density foam underneath to provide a bit more cushioning effect so that when you tighten screws the foam keeps things at a more even level plus the springs don't have much resistance should you need to raise pickup height.
