Hello all,
I'm looking for a correct wiring for a guitar I'm trying to renovate.
I want to have a 5 position selector for 2 humbuckers :
Position 1 : Bridge Alone (no split)
Position 2 : Bridge splitted
Position 3 : Bridge splitted + neck splitted
Position 4 : Bridge + Neck (no split)
Position 5 : Neck alone (no split).

What do you think ? I didn't find something like that, but it's the config for my way of playing.
Thanx in advance !

Guillaume

Which kit and which pickups? You'll probably need Grigsby 5-way super-switch but, depending on the the details, it may be possible with other another cofiguration.

Thanks for your answer. That's for a guitar I already own (ibanez), I don't have a pitbull kit yet (in a few weeks I hope !)

How many wires do your pickups have, 2, 3 or 4 (plus bare shield)? You'll need 3 or 4 wire pickups for splitting.

You should be able to get close to what you want with an E-model Megaswitch (http://www.stewmac.com/Pickups_and_Electronics/Components_and_Parts/Megaswitch.html) (layouts/configs (http://www.stewmac.com/How-To/Online_Resources/Learn_About_Guitar_Pickups_and_Electronics_and_Wir ing/E-Model_Megaswitch_Instructions.html)). If not, and depending on your pickups' wires, either a 2 pole (https://guitarelectronics.com/5-way-2-pole-pickup-selector-switch-oak-grigsby/) or 4 pole (http://www.stewmac.com/Pickups_and_Electronics/Components_and_Parts/Switches/Oak_Grigsby_Super_Switch.html) Grigsby switch may be required as they have individual contacts for each position on each pole which allows more flexible configurations.

Thanx Scott ! I own a splittable humbucker : tone zone (bridge) and the neck one will be splittable too, don't worry for that.
I think I need a megaswitch ?
