30kg of concrete temporary fence foot landed on my left index finger, and I now find myself in the middle of an unexpected guitar hiatus.

Need someone to drill a hole through my fingernail, and to put up with my shreeks and cries.

Otherwise you will have little dents in your nail as it grows out.
Works a treat ( get someone else to do it ) they won't chicken out .
Cheer hope it works out

Just leave it. If you drill a hole you've created a way for bacteria to get in past your body's filtering systems. It should sort itself out over the next few days/week. The blood from the bruise will be absorbed into your body.
If it's still hurting unbearably now, head to the quacks

You could also put some ice from the fridge on it too, put the ice in a plastic freezer bag first and then wrap it in a tea-towel and then hold it to your finger, it's a good treatment for bruises.

Good to hear! My advice would be as said by other; just leave it and let mother nature do the rest ;)
