Hi Everyone,


I've just ordered a new book online from America, the book itself is titled "Joe Meek's Bold Techniques".

For those of you who don't know who Joe Meek is, he is a famous English producer from the 1950's who pioneered a lot of the studio recording techniques and effects that are now commonplace, he's also responsible for composing some famous hits of the 50's, such as "Telstar", "Have I the right?", and "Johnny, remember me".

I assume you've seen the movie, "Telstar - the Joe Meek story", doc?

And I don't think Meek wrote "Have I the right?"; he produced it, but I'm positive someone else wrote it! Happy to be wrong, though!

Yeah, I've seen parts of that movie on youtube, and I'm happy to be proven wrong about that song too, he definitely did produce it though.

Update:

I just received the book in the post this afternoon, it's a pretty good read, lots of interesting details on what gear Joe Meek used to record all the music he produced.
