A short demo video of the fretless JBB-5NT in action. I call it something completely different in the video due to lack of coffee.

What do you think of the fretless maple board compared to traditional rosewood fretless ones?

I don't really have a sonic preference- maple looks awesome but is forever having to be cleaned, unless it's lacquered or epoxied. Rosewood generally strikes me as drab and traditonal- unless it's a particularly gorgeous figured slab.

Maybe the sealed finish has something to do with that perhaps. Have to agree that Elmo's neck looks great with no fret clutter or markings.

Lovely looking and sounding bass. The clear on the body is spectacular! Well done.

Thanks, good sir! However I can't take any credit for its construction- this is how it arrived from the factory. It certainly is earning its keep as my #1 bass.

I guess with fretless you just feel where the notes are? It seems very much more expressive. Something to consider.
