Hi

I have bought a blank piece of scratchplate for my kit. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on the best way to trace and cut scratchplate designs.

Thanks

I did mine on a router table - made a template from MDF first, got that nicely shaped and sanded, then used a round over bit with a bearing to follow the MDF pattern onto the plastic.

I found that slow speed worked best, to stop the scratch plate snapping on the sharper corners.

If you have to drill holes, a proper counter sink bit, on slow speed in your drill, may be useful to stop snapping.
