View Full Version : TL-1 Custom
Another Custom Order that arrived not exactly as ordered. This one is missing the veneer the customer wanted.
A very nice looking kit with a string through body bridge and the neck pickup rout nice and clean for a single coil.
The maple fretboard is particularly nice.

For a Basswood body that looks great and at a bargain price. That said, cannot justify a 3rd Tele and hope it goes to a good home.

Yip, the next one was going to be a TL51 anyway. Wanted a String through Tele, and as the plan was to do it in a solid colour, the figure on the body was of no consequence. So the $100 saved can go on bits.
Only getting the body and neck. Plan is a solid pastel/surfy colour, and use Fender parts for most of the hardware, get it as close to the real thing without putting fender on the headstock as I can.
Lucky Ive got a birthday in about 6 weeks

Look out Frankie, sounds like Sea Foam Green might be the plan for this one.

Nice work Rosco. Had my eye on this too but couldn't quite pull the trigger.
Will make a really nice Tele, especially with that neck route.
cheers,
Gav.

Oh well never mind. :p
The grand plan, is the LP, the Tele, a 335, a Strat and an RC base. Then I'm supposed to stop. That should keep me occupied for a couple of years.

Famous last words!
Good luck with that Rossc0! And a nice Tele kit BTW, especially with the smaller neck pup route

Showing my ignorance here. Never owned a tele, so what are the relevance the few comments a couple of you have made on the smaller neck pup route?
Thanks

Hey Rossco, good score on the kit mate. All the previous PBG tele kits have a massive neck pup route so you can't use a single pup surround and even a humbucker ring doesn't cover the cavity so you really have to use a pickguard

This was originally my Custom order. As Woks said, the single pickup route was so I could use a pickup ring rather than have a pickguard covering the quilted maple veneer.
